Reuniting with Tropical Hut's Classic Burger

Tropical Hut has been our usual burger joint ever since Toby and I started dating. Back when Toby was still courting me, he frequently invites me to have lunch or dinner at Tropical Hut since their branches are considerably near our place. We usually stay either at Taytay or Q Plaza, near Sta. Lucia.

However, because of different reasons, it took us a while to be able to revisit his favorite restaurant which made me crave our usual order, the Classic Burger meal. Hence my excitement when Toby fetched me after class the other night, and invited me to have dinner at Tropical Hut. After not being able to eat a Classic Burger for so long, my first bite on that bad boy made me foodgasm. Hahaha!

Classic didn't disappoint us, it was still as good as we remembered it to be. Their burger patties were still as tasteful and tender. They were slightly dry, but nothing a drizzle of their huge bottled ketchup can't fix. Their sesame seed buns which I was always a fan of, were still served fresh and hot. It always gives me a certain nostalgic feeling because of how it reminds me of my lola and the usual pan de sal she'd feed me every morning, whenever I spend a weekend with her and lolo, back when I was younger.

In terms of value for money, their Classic Burger, and even the other items on Tropical Hut's menu, are worth the spend. 200 to 300php is enough to buy a fulfilling meal for two. Now, that's a bargain you shouldn't miss!

Bossing and what it's famous for

Are you hungry but short on money? Well then, Bossing is the place for you! It's a carinderia type of eatery, located just across our village. It serves the usual silogs and some sizzling plates like sisig and pork chop. According to Toby, who actually introduced me to this joint, Bossing was his go-to place after getting wasted from his night outs back when he was in college.

The eatery and their menu

First time we went here, Toby insisted we try their Sizzling Sisig. For some reason, we didn't get to take pictures of our food that night. I guess we were just too hungry and too drawn into consuming our plate that we forgot! Though their sisig wasn't really anything out of the ordinary. It was sizzling alright, but it lacked seasoning and taste. It was too oily as well. The only thing note worthy about that dish was it's generous serving.

But the thing that really made Toby and I frequent visitors of Bossing is their ever famous Litsilog! It's a big hit to their customers since it's cheap, fulfilling, and with the amount of serving, you'll never go wrong!

THE BLOG AND THE BLOGGER

I kept asking my boyfriend to do a blog about our food trips from the time we've gone back into dating but because of his "hectic" schedule at work, he never had the time to start a blog, and so I've decided why not do the writing myself.

Why am I so eager to put up a blog about our food tripping? For starters, it's simply because I love food and eating, and I enjoy the food trips my boyfriend and I have every after our busy day at work/class. Basically, pigging out has become our stress reliever, and definitely, our bonding time as well. I enjoy eating as much as I enjoy being with Toby. However, I do have some minor issues with food and eating. Since I used to weigh more before, I'm really conscious of my calorie intake and whatnot. I've always struggled with my diet, and gaining weight bothers me a lot. But I don't consider myself as someone with serious disorder, I'm just naturally picky with what, where, and how I eat. Although, for the sake of my health, I've been trying to get my normal/healthy appetite back. Thankfully, with the help of Toby, family, and friends, I have somehow learned to control my insane diet cycles and had gone back to enjoying good food.

In this blog you'll read about our not so very interesting food adventures. Since we're on a tight budget, entries are mostly on cheap eateries, fast/comfort foods, and/or home made recipes.

Enjoy!
